We're glad you asked! It's a check, just like the checks Deluxe has produced for over 100 years. DPX digital payments are everything paper checks are, with one key difference – they are delivered securely in seconds.
What DPX eChecks are:
eChecks are a check that is printed by the recipient. A little more specifically, after the check is sent by an authorized user, the recipient of the check receives a notification by email. The recipient then uses DPX deposit services or prints the check using normal paper in either color or black and white. Once printed, the check is endorsed on the back and is ready for deposit.

It's also important to understand that eChecks are not any of the following transaction types:
- ACH (Automated Clearing House)
- RCC (Remotely Created Check)
- EPO (Electronic Payment Order)
- ECI (Electronically Created Item)
